Tourism Development Fund
The Tourism Development Fund (TDF) program is supported by the revenues collected by the City of North Bay through the administration of the Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT).
As the designated Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) and recipient of 60% of the MAT, Tourism North Bay administers a portion of these revenues to support continued tourism growth and development by providing funding through three (3) funding streams:
- Tourism Infrastructure Fund (TIF)
- Tourism Event Fund (TEF)
- Product Development (coming soon)
Tourism Infrastructure Fund
This new initiative is designed to elevate our destination by helping local organizations and small businesses bring their visionary tourism projects to life and supporting the development of new or improved infrastructure, assets and experiences. The purpose of the program is to enhance North Bay’s tourism offerings to boost the local economy and foster sustainable growth.
Applications for the Tourism Development Fund – Infrastructure Stream will be accepted annually (pending budget approval) from January 1st to March 31st.
Tourism Event Fund
Events play a vital role in supporting tourism in North Bay and highlight the numerous businesses, associations and talent that we have in our community.
The Tourism Event Fund is a great tool that provides a financial contribution to local champions and/or organizers who are hosting events in the community that generate overnight stays in the city.
Please note that applciations for 2026 are now open.
