Outdoor Sports + Recreation Facilities

North Bay’s outdoor sports facilities showcase premier fields and venues designed to host everything from youth tournaments to championship-level competitions. Our well-maintained baseball diamonds, soccer fields, and football facilities provide teams and organizers with professional grade playing surfaces, spectator amenities, and convenient access to support services. Set against the beautiful backdrop of Northern Ontario, these outdoor venues offer the ideal combination of competitive playing conditions and scenic surroundings, making North Bay a premier destination for outdoor sports events and recreational activities throughout the season. These are available for community and sport organization use from May through September each year and are available for booking through the City of North Bay Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Services Department.

Baseball Diamonds

Amelia Ball Field (Amelia Park) – Memorial Dr. – Softball field primarily used by NBMGSA
Centennial Ball Field (Laurentian Playground) – Dane St. – Primarily used by NBBA as a practice field. Could facilitate softball, or baseball up to U13.
Handley (Optimist Park) – Wallace Rd. – NBBA and NBGMSA both use these fields. Suitable for softball and baseball up to U13.
Johnson Ball Field (Thomson Park) – Chippewa St. – Primary use as a slo pitch field.
Kelly (Optimist Park) – Wallace Rd. NBBA and NBGMSA both use these fields. Suitable for softball and baseball up to U13.
Lennox Ball Field (Armstrong Park) – Lakeside Dr. Slo Pitch field
Phillips Ball Field (Kinette Playground) – Rock St. – Rookie ball field – suitable up to U9
Police Ball Field (Police Playground) – Stone St.
Steve Omischl Sports Complex – Lakeshore Dr. – All three fields are skin infields and could facilitate either baseball or softball. Currently equipped for softball.
Veterans Ball Field (Veterans Park) – Judge Ave. – Baseball field, turf infield/natural clay, mound – only fulltime field suitable for baseball U15 +.
