ARENAS + Ice Sports

North Bay boasts premier arenas for ice sports serving everyone from beginners to professional athletes.

Boart Longyear Memorial Gardens anchors the city’s ice sports scene as home to the OHL’s North Bay Battalion and Nipissing Lakers hockey teams. Since 1955, this renovated venue has hosted world-class events including the Women’s World Curling Championships and Skate Canada competitions, while also welcoming major concerts and entertainment.

Pete Palangio Arena features dual ice pads supporting minor hockey, adult leagues, figure skating, ringette, and public skating for all ages and skill levels throughout the region.

West Ferris Arena (Sam Jacks Complex) proudly serves as the official “Home of Ringette” while accommodating local hockey leagues and figure skating programs.

The upcoming North Bay Community and Recreation Centre will modernize local ice sports infrastructure with two NHL-sized rinks, an indoor track, full accessibility, heated viewing areas, and 14 change rooms.

North Bay Granite Club completes the ice sports offering with six curling sheets and 75 years of hosting elite competitions, providing one of Northern Ontario’s finest curling experiences.

From recreational skating to professional hockey, international championships to community programs, North Bay’s comprehensive ice facilities deliver year-round opportunities for participants and spectators alike.
