The Wasi Cross Country Ski Club is a small, family friendly club located approximately 20km south of North Bay, Ontario and has 43 km of ski trails and 8 km of snowshoe trails.

Make your way through a mix of hardwood and conifers that are perfect for all ages and ski levels. The ski trails are classically groomed and the track set includes 7½ km of double-track. Access skiing or snowshoeing or both on your annual membership or visitor day pass.

Callander Bay Heritage Museum & Alex Dufresne Gallery

The Callander Bay Heritage Museum is in beautiful Callander just 10 minutes south from Downtown North Bay. The museum can be found in the prior home and practice of Dr. Dafoe and tells the story of the famous Dionne Quintuplets, Dr. Dafoe, and other history of the area such as the logging industry, history of shipping on Lake Nipissing, geology and more.

The Alex Dufresne Art Gallery houses local art shows year round and showcases a variety of mediums and styles.

La Vase Portages Hiking Trail

In 2012, the Conservation Authority, together with the Friends of La Vase, created a new walking trail at the northern reaches of the historic La Vase Portage. It allows enthusiasts to experience the tranquil waters of a portion of this passageway used by Voyageurs between Trout Lake and Lake Nipissing. The short hike takes about 45 minutes to complete.

Kate Pace Way

The Kate Pace Way is a paved pathway that connects North Bay’s Waterfront with the neighbourhoods and green spaces at the south end of the city. The trail was also recently designated as part of the Voyageur Cycling Route with cycling connections to other provincially significant routes. The popular trail celebrates a tradition of excellence in sport in the city and honours Olympic skier Kate Pace as its namesake. Adding to its celebrity, the trail is designated as part of the Trans Canada Trail, bringing national attention to the city.

Kinsmen Trail

The Kinsmen Trail is a paved pathway winding along Chippewa Creek through the heart of North Bay. The trail makes use of streets along some sections, but frequent signage and pavement markings make navigation of the trail easy. The Chippewa Creek EcoPath follows 3.2 km of the trail between Thomson Park and the waterfront. The EcoPath is a local project that fosters stewardship of the creek through plantings to improve water quality and a watershed education program. Interpretive signage along the EcoPath provides information about the program.

Lake Temiskaming Tour

This tour is a unique, driving loop which takes visitors around Lake Temiskaming. This experience is touted as offering travellers “One lake, two provinces, and three cultures.”

The Lake Temiskaming Tour is a unique cross-border tourism initiative between Ontario and Quebec. Starting and ending in North Bay, visitors can travel in either direction, exploring Marten River, Temagami, Temiskaming Shores, New Liskeard, Notre-Dame-du-Nord, Ville-Marie, Temiscaming and Mattawa.

This trip will provide rich history and culture of the area as well as countless views of lakes, marshes and old-growth forests, with some white pines as old as 300 years. The tour takes one to two days depending on your stops, and offers a delightful mix of culinary experiences, natural attractions, cultural exhibits, motels and camping opportunities. This trip will also provide the thrill of the open road, and a slight detour into the jewel that is Algonquin Park (optional).
