The trail is also home to the 3.2 km Chippewa Creek Eco Path that winds along the creek, showcasing wetlands, wildlife, and interpretive signage about local ecosystems between Thompson Park to Lake Nipissing. The Lake Temiskaming Tour is a unique cross-border tourism initiative between Ontario and Quebec.  Starting and ending in North Bay, visitors can travel in either direction, exploring Marten River, Temagami, Temiskaming Shores, New Liskeard, Notre-Dame-du-Nord, Ville-Marie, Temiscaming and Mattawa.

This trip will provide rich history and culture of the area as well as countless views of lakes, marshes and old-growth forests, with some white pines as old as 300 years.  The tour takes one to two days depending on your stops, and offers a delightful mix of culinary experiences, natural attractions, cultural exhibits, motels and camping opportunities.  This trip will also provide the thrill of the open road, and a slight detour into the jewel that is Algonquin Park (optional).
